Wizardry Won a Grammy!
It’s been a crazy week. After 10 months of unemployment, I managed to get a new full-time gig (and a good one too!) and started on Monday, 2/3 (more on that in a future post). That was already pretty great, but then something even crazier happened the night before I was set to start…
Winifred Phillips won a Grammy for her work on Wizardry!
I first got to work with Winifred on Speed Racer, back in 2007, and she was an absolute pleasure to work with! So, after Speed Racer, we pushed to bring her on board for the Charlie & the Chocolate Factory games and then I brought her on for Legend of the Guardians, the best owls in armor game ever made.
After I left WB, I tried to bring her on for projects at Other Ocean / Digital Eclipse but it just seemed to never work out. Then, when we got Wizardry and our in-house sound / music guy (the also incredible Bob Baffy) was inundated with too much work, we reached out to Winifred to handle the music… and the rest is history.
Winifred did an amazing job on Wizardry and absolutely deserves this. And as for her thanking me in her acceptance speech, it has very quickly become a highlight of my career. Congrats, Winifred!
